Welcome to PPAF

The Public Private Alliance Foundation (PPAF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing poverty in the world by bringing together business, governmental, community, academic, United Nations and other interests. Through collaboration, we help stimulate entrepreneurship and commerce-related activities and encourage investment for sustainable development. Focusing initially on the Dominican Republic and Madagascar, our vision is to make a difference for human betterment.

PPAF works in program areas including agribusiness, education, microfinance, health, information technology, remittances, renewable energy, and water and sanitation. It works closely with the United Nations for policies that advance public-private alliances. PPAF is associated with the Department of Public Information of the United Nations.

2/21/2010	PPAF has created a multidisciplinary Advisory Group on Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development. It will focus initially on the Dominican Response to the Haiti Earthquake and on Haitian Post-Earthquake Reconstruction and Development. 10/27/2009	PPAF holds October Bioenergy Meeting In the D.R. The third in PPAF's series of meetings on biofuels and bioenergy, held in collaboration with ResearchPAYS, took place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from October 7 to 9. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Energy Commission hosted the event. 7/20/2009	Summary of Ethanol Event at UN A group of 25 high-level participants from the Dominican Republic, the US, Haiti and the United Nations met on 17 June, 2009 in continuation of PPAF�s 7 May Third Annual Partners Against Poverty event at the UN. This report is also available in Spanish.

5/17/2009	Press Release "Partners Against Poverty" at UN The Public-Private Alliance Foundation (PPAF) held its Third Annual "Partners Against Poverty" event at the United Nations on May 7, 2009.
4/13/2009	April 2009 Newsletter Great News! In January PPAF received its 501(c) 3 public charity designation from the US Internal Revenue Service. That means that donations received are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and may be made directly to PPAF.
2/6/2009	PPAF Receives 501(c)3 Status We are delighted to announce that PPAF has received its 501(c)3 status letter from the US Internal Revenue Service. Dating back to PPAF's incorporation on August 24, 2006, all funds donated to PPAF are considered tax-free according to IRS regulations. Donations may now be made directly to the Public-Private Alliance Foundation. Please write your check to PPAF. It may be sent to PPAF c/o WAFUNIF, United Nations, Room 646; 304 E. 45th St., New York, NY 10017.
